Bangkok (Sathorn) · June 2025

I attended the Affairs Almanac Workshop in June and came away with a completely different way of thinking about where our documents were stored. The facilitator was patient and never pushed us toward any particular decision — she kept reminding us that the whole point was just clarity. Our folder at home is now genuinely usable for the first time.

The Chapter-by-Chapter Inventory session was thorough. Thomas helped us build a binder that covers everything from bank account locations to where we keep the copies of our wills. My one note is that it ran a little longer than I expected — closer to four hours — so block out a proper afternoon. That said, I am genuinely glad we did it. Worth every baht.

My husband and I joined the Almanac Membership after attending the introductory workshop. The monthly sessions have kept us moving forward — without them I think we would have got the binder done and then just stopped. Having a community of people working through the same process makes a real difference. The facilitators are warm and honest about the limits of what they can help with.

I was a little uncertain going in — I thought it might feel like a sales pitch for a professional service. It was nothing like that. The workshop was genuinely educational, and at the end I had a clearer picture of what documents I was missing entirely. I appreciated that they mentioned several official Thai bodies and explained which kind of professional to contact for specific questions.

Priya ran the inventory session for me and my daughter and it was exactly what we needed. My daughter now knows where everything is kept and — just as importantly — knows who to contact in Thailand for the things that need professional handling. I have already recommended this to two colleagues at my office.

As an expat with family scattered across three countries, I have found the membership particularly valuable. The facilitated conversation sessions gave my family a structured framework for a discussion we had been putting off for years. It felt safe and calm — which was exactly the tone we needed to actually get through it.

FM

Francesca & Michael O'Brien

Attended: Chapter-by-Chapter Inventory

Challenge

Francesca and Michael had accumulated 18 years of paperwork across two countries. They knew roughly where things were but had never properly organised them — and had avoided the topic because it felt overwhelming and a little morbid.

What Happened

Priya walked them through the chapter structure over one afternoon, split into two sessions at their request. They sorted, labelled, and filed everything into the reference binder, and received a list of recommended qualified professionals for outstanding items.

Outcome

Within four hours total they had a complete binder covering identification, property, financial accounts, and personal wishes (general notes only). They subsequently contacted a Bangkok-based solicitor using the referral list for the professional portions.

"We left with something physical we could actually hand to our children. That feeling of having it done — properly done — was a genuine relief."

RH

Ruth Hendricks

Attended: Almanac Membership (6 months)

Challenge

Ruth had attended an initial workshop at another provider and found it too sales-heavy. She wanted ongoing learning and community without anyone pushing her toward financial products or professional engagements she had not asked for.

What Happened

She joined the Almanac Membership in January 2025 and attended five monthly sessions over six months. The facilitated family conversation in March was particularly useful — her adult son joined via video call and they covered topics they had not previously discussed.

Outcome

Ruth built a chapter-by-chapter binder over the first two months and used the remaining sessions to refine it and ask questions in a supportive group setting. She renewed her membership in June and has referred three colleagues.

"What I valued most was that nobody was trying to sell me the next step. The sessions were exactly what they said they were."
